Most of the time I really enjoy being alive. When I’m in my kitchen and my hands are stained red from bruising the skins of roasted beets, when my feet are pounding the pavement in the first morning light and I feel invincible, when I’m at a table big or small, watching the people I love laugh and fill themselves up with the food I created, when I manage to drink my whole cup of tea before it gets cold. Other times, being alive is exhausting and demanding and a pain in the ass. Sometimes it’s just plain hard. This is a space where I explore all those things.
I’m a photographer based in Montana who spends a lot of the year traveling the US and world for both work and joy. I’m seeking a slower life where I cook everyday, the invitations to my dinner table (which is currently a blanket on my living room floor) are in abundance and I have the courage to do the hard things.
This space is an experiment. Seven years in the thinking and finally in the making.
